Call Your Sister
Call Your Sister is a podcast for related and unrelated sisters or CYS everywhere co-hosted by Alexandra Hodge and Astrid Ferguson. Every week, Alex and Astrid call each other to discuss the complexities of motherhood, sisterhood, identity struggles, dating as a single mother, sex and much more. We’re real Latinx sisters who are fiercely opinionated, and not afraid to realtalk each other about everything from (men)strual cycles and body shaming to the Platanos versus Yuccas debates and current identity life drama. We highlight women who are both trying to keep it together and got it all figured out. We also care deeply about the lived experiences of BIPOC and Lantinx women who are just trying to get through the week. We’re here for every facet of women’s humanity because we are a community, a nation of CYS everywhere.

Stop Making Me Carry the Conversation!!
Dímelo mi gente 💋 it’s your favorite little sis, Lexy and today we’re talking about something that hits too close to home:
Why do women always end up carrying conversations with men?
Why does emotional connection sometimes feel like a full-time job?
In this episode, we unpack what it really means to communicate, to listen, and to show up even when it’s uncomfortable.
From TikTok social experiments to therapy trends and real-life moments of vulnerability, we’re breaking down why it’s so hard for people to stay present when things get real… and how we can all get better at it.
I’m sharing a personal story a moment where I tried to open up to someone I cared about and wasn’t met with the same depth and what it taught me about emotional reciprocity, boundaries, and peace.
We’re also diving into current events that show the world is finally catching up:
🧠 California’s new push for men’s mental health,
💚 the rise of “Therapy Bro Summer,”
and 💬 Eve Rodsky’s mission to help couples balance emotional labor.
So whether you’re the one doing the talking, the one learning to listen, or the one trying to rebuild trust — grab your cafecito, breathe deep, and come sit with me.
Because vulnerability isn’t weakness.
It’s how we remind the world — and ourselves — that we’re still human.
