Call Your Sister
The myths and misconceptions of culture with Nancy Paloma Collins
Show Notes

In this episode Astrid Ferguson (the big sister) speaks with Nancy Paloma Collins
the founder of Paloma Therapy about the myths and misconceptions of culture. We get into deep conversation about the things we allow because of our culture.

We discuss why conversations can be difficult due to the cultural norms we have passed down through generations. Some of those abnormal cultural norms include silencing those who challenge the status quo, accepting machismo as part of the culture, and internalizing abuse because we only see it as a domestic relationship issue.

Nancy Paloma Collins is a conversation starter and a therapist who focuses on providing services to Afrolatinos and LGBTQIA+ community. Her hope is to challenge what we define as a culture and redefine our values and norms that encompasses our whole true selves. Make sure to continue the conversation by following her on Instagram or by visiting her site.
